luminescent solar concentratorsCongratulations to our Ph.D. student Alberto Picchi for his scientific publication entitled "Sustainable luminescent solar concentrators with superior photodegradation resistance employing heptagon-embedded polycyclic aromatic dicarboximides as emitters" in Materials Today Energy. Two novel carboximidic fluorophores containing 7-membered rings have been proposed for bulk LSC applications.

Methyl methacrylate obtained from chemical recycling of PMMA was used for polymerization through cell casting, resulting in sustainable devices. The LSCs produced using the perylene-based fluorophore proved to be extremely photostable during accelerated aging tests, outperforming all other organic emitters reported in the literature.
