The XXII edition of Euroanalysis – European conference on analytical chemistry took place in Barcelona, bringing together researchers from across Europe to share advances in analytical chemistry. Our DSCM was actively involved, with both talks and a poster presentation.
Elena De Gregorio introduced her work on a non-invasive sensing platform for creatinine, cystatin C, and urea detection in human sweat for kidney disease monitoring, while Leonardo Barlucchi presented a novel approach for estimating airborne microplastics concentration in plastic processing workplaces. Greta Biale, now a postdoctoral researcher in our department, contributed with a talk on microwave-assisted pretreatments coupled with Py-GC-MS for the quantification of microplastics and associated organic contaminants. Mariano De Cristofaro represented his research group with a poster on sweat-based protocols for reliable determination of creatinine and cystatin C in chronic kidney disease. Congratulations to all of them for the opportunity to share their work in this valuable international context, with a showcase of the diverse research directions pursued within our doctoral school.
