Title:
The role of NMR spectroscopy in understanding molecular recognition mechanisms
Abstract:
The use of low molecular weight or polymeric additives is becoming more and more popular in affecting the solubilizing power of cyclodextrins towards lipophilic drugs, the enantiodiscriminating efficiency of chiral auxiliaries for NMR spectroscopy and the final morphology of hybrid perovskites. A rational approach to these applications requires the comprehension of supramolecular aggregation processes at a molecular level by using spectroscopic methods.
The modification of chitosans represents a privileged way to the optimization of their mucoadhesive properties also in nanoparticulated systems dedicated to the development of controlled release platforms for lipophilic and hydrophilic drugs. Ascertaining the role of supramolecular aggregation of nanoaggregated forms on the final properties of the materials by non-empirical approaches represents a challenging task which can be realized by exploiting the great potentialities of NMR spectroscopy.
