Our Ph.D. candidate Denise Biagini, member of Prof. Di Francesco’s research group, actively participated in the experimental activities of the international research project “Milano Ventilatore Meccanico” (MVM).
The aim of this project is the development of a mechanical ventilator which is apt to be replicated on a very large scale in a short time and at a limited cost, in order to boost the availability of mechanical ventilators in Italy and to face the COVID-19 emergency. The work was mainly focused on the MS-based analysis of volatile compounds released by the MVM materials to assess any potential harmful emission from the device and support the approval for its clinical application.
