Congratulations to our Ph.D. student Cosimo Micheletti and to our grant holder Francesco Ventura for their scientific publication entitled “Red-emitting tetraphenylethylene derivative with aggregation-induced enhanced emission for luminescent solar concentrators: A combined experimental and density functional theory study” in the Aggregate journal. An extensive experimental and theoretical study of a new dye with applications in the field of luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs).
Congratulations to our Ph.D. student Silvia Pizzimenti for her publication "Unravelling the effect of carbon black in the autoxidation mechanism of polyunsaturated oils" on Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry. In this work, the effect of amorphous carbon black on the mechanism and the kinetic of autoxidation of a polyunsaturated oil used as paint binder was investigated. Moreover, the effect of the addition of common paint additives, aluminium stearate and zinc stearate, was studied.

Nicola Di Fidio.
Congratulations to our Ph.D. student Alberto Gobbo for his scientific publication entitled “A Simple Synthetic Route to Well-Defined [Pd(NHC)Cl(1-tBu-indenyl)] Pre-catalysts for Cross-Coupling Reactions” in the European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry. A simple and eco-friendly synthetic protocol leading to [Pd(NHC)Cl(1-tBu-indenyl)] complexes bearing different saturated and unsaturated NHC ligands (NHC=IPr, IPrCl, IMes, SIMes, IPr*) is reported.

Prende il via il nuovo progetto DSCM di comunicazione della scienza nato dalla collaborazione con Microbiologia Italia.
Il primo articolo divulgativo è stato realizzato dal Dott. Michele Nottoli e curato dal Dott. Nicola Di Fidio. Esso è disponibile al seguente link: www.microbiologiaitalia.it/metodi-multiscala“
Congratulations to our Ph.D. student Simona Braccini for her scientific publication entitled “Effect of Network Topology on the Protein Adsorption Behavior of Hydrophilic Polymeric Coatings” in the journal “ACS Applied Polymer Materials”. We prepared polyurethane (PU) network coatings with various cross-linking densities that were based on polypropylene glycol (PPG) and polytetramethylene glycol (PTMG) macrodiols with different lengths and containing similar amounts of hydrophilic methoxy polyethylene glycol (mPEG) dangling chains.
